Chess Guidelines 1. Castle (prefer KingSide) don't be pinned/checked, so you can't 2. Move King's-Pawn (prefer up 2 spaces) allowing bishops/ Queen to attack/defend 3. Don't block path's via Pawns, never restrict your knights/ bishops/ Queen's movement 4. Limit moving Pawns (yours/theirs) until path safe to Queen 5. Don't allow valuable pieces in danger from possible checks 6. Get control of centre-board, defend centre board safely 7. Rooks are better in the middle area path/lines 8. Anticipate (possible) checks, even if King's protected to avoid unavoidable forks 9. Protecting King is primary focus (1st objective) POINT SYSTEM pawns- 1point, bishops/knights-3points, rooks- 5points, Queens-9 points, and Kings- 100points! Don't neglect king, use forks to endanger other King (pins too) controlling middle-board helps this strategy 10.
