Big Pawn

A big pawn is a derisive term for a bishop (or occasionally another piece) that has been reduced to a purely defensive, passive role, offering little more than the function of a pawn. The term typically describes a bad bishop trapped behind its own pawn chain, where its range and influence are minimal.
