Whether or not Abraham was the first Jew or not is irrelevant. He lived in Iraq before Jews migrated to Palestine. So the Jewish homeland is Iraq. Unless you can find an older Jewish community than in Iraq. But if it is not Palestine then that is not the real Jewish homeland.

Many people are unaware that Iran had good relations with Israel under the rule of the Shah of Iran. Many Jews live in Iran. All this rhetoric about Iran being against Jews is a bloody lie. Why do Jews tend to be Zionists? I am mostly English. I don't have any special loyalty to the UK. I don't want to move there. Do you want to move to Israel? If not, why so supportive of Zionism? Why don't they just move here in the USA? You seem content living here. Or do you have complaints?

Aside from religious reasons, which may be part of it - he's a fact that you're probably not going to be able to wrap youd mind around, but so goes it...
Jews are treated very well in the US, by and large, but from history, we know that this doesn't always last. And when the worm does turn, there's not much we can do. In Israel, at least, we can go down swinging.
Jews used to basically trust in the government for our security. Even if there were pogroms and persecution, we figured that we can live under pretty much any set of rules, as long as we follow them.
Then the Nazis came and wiped out European Jewry, and save for Norway, Sweden, Netherlands and a few other exceptions, basically, nobody gave a damn. Or at least nobody was willing to stick their necks out. the League of Nations, the international community, whatever. Nobody was effective in stopping the Nazis when they came for is.
So, while we are highly grateful to countries like the United States, who treat Jews well, we're not outsourcing our security to the international community again. There's a good way and a bad way to deal with threats from the likes of Iran and Hamas and the Houthis, etc., and Israel has not always been smart about it. But they're not going to let the UN or the EU or even the US tell them what they can and cannot do to survive. Because if Israel is overrun by Islamo-terrorists, nobody is going to save it.
At this point, Israel would rather be despised and alive than dead to a lovely requium from the world.
Put more crassly, next time they come for us (whomever "they" are), we're going to kick their ass or die trying.
I understand that you can't really grasp it. Fine. You're English. Awesome. You have countries. Nobody is trying to exterminate you. Bully for you.
